- June 22nd: The south section project of Yincheng Central Road started formally construction. The whole length of the project beginning from Yincheng South Road to Dongchang Road is about 200 meters. It is estimated to complete the construction at the end of this year.

- May 27th: Sponsored by Pudong New Area Tourist Association, Shanghai Metropolitan Head Company, Shanghai Wang Kai Photography Company and the Group Company, the campaign of "White Magnolia Wedding Ceremony" in Pudong New Area was solemnly held in the Central Greenbelt. Huwei, the Administrative Vice-Director of the Pundog New Area Administrative Committee, and the other leading cadres of the concerned committees, offices and bureaus attended the campaign ceremony. Huwei, the Administrative Vice-Director, presented the Golden Key towards the representatives of the brides and bridegrooms. Kang Huijun, the General Manager, made the speech of congratulations towards the newlywed on behalf of all circles of the New District.
- May 21st: Shanghai Lujiazui Golf Club, occupying the area of 34,000 square meters, was formally built up. The ceremony of starting business was held.
- May 17th: Showing collectively the construction achievements of Pudong's Development and opening to the world in ten years, the appreciation and selection of the elaborate project works were formally announced. The ceremony for awarding the medals was held. The items winning awards for the Company are as follows. Minle Garden of Yuqiao Gardens won the Golden Medal for Architecture.
The Century Boulevard had the honor to get the Golden Medal for City Planning. Lujiazui Central Greenbelt and Riverside Boulevard won the Golden Medal for Landscaping. Sculpture won the Prize of Elaborate Urban Sculpture. Besides, Lujiazui Garden had the honor to get the Silver Medal for Architecture. "The Time of the Century" won the Expert Nomination Prize of Elaborate Urban Sculpture.
- May 16th: The Company and Huayuan Real Estate Development Company Ltd. held the ceremony to sign the Transfer Contract of the Tenure over plot 4-2 in Longyang Area. So far, the residential plots in Longyang Area have been leased and transferred in batches. The total area is 274,782 square meters.
- May 16th: The Chinese City Planning Association organized more than 200 specialists of the same trade from all parts of the country and called the demonstration seminar of city planning projects in the Company. The construction units of Shanghai Century Boulevard Project, the Elevated Highway Project at Yixian Road, the Urban Subsidence-Type Square of Jing'an Temple and the Walking street of Nanjing Road etc. introduced the situations about the construction of the projects.

- April 26th: The East City Company, the full capital subsidiary company of the Group Company, and Zhejiang Lucheng Real Estate Development Incorporated Company, the biggest real estate Development company in Zhejiang Province, signed the Transfer Contract of the Tenure over plots W1-4 and 5 in Lujiazui Financial and Commercial Area. Located at the juncture of Yanggao Road and Pujian Road in Lujiazui Finance and Trade Zone, the plots occupy the area of nearly 200,000 square meters and have the building area of 400,000 square meters. For Lujiazui Group Company, this has been so far the biggest land item leased in batches with the largest area occupation in the district and also the biggest residential land use item leased in batches. The total investment for this item is about 1.5 billion RMB. The plots are to be built into the medium- and top-grade residential area in plan.

- April 21st: A group of 12 elder Public ambassadors came to visit Pudong. Among them, there were Xu Dunxin, the Vice-Director of NPC Foreign Affairs Committee and the original Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Department and the Ambassador to Japan, and Li Daoyu, the Vice-Director of NPC Overseas Chinese Committee and the original Ambassador to the United States. Qin Huasun, the Vice-Director of CPPCC Foreign affairs Committee and the original UN Representative, was also in the list.
- April 18th (night): Shanghai Mass Get-together Rally in Memory of the Tenth Anniversary of Pudong's Development and Opening to the World was solemnly held in the square of the newly-completed Lujiazui Food Castle. Huangju, the Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, Xu Kuangdi, the Mayor of Shanghai, and Zhao Qizheng, the current Director of the Press Office of CPC Central Committee and originally worked in Pudong, attended the rally and had the get-together and watched the performances with the masses. The leading cadres from the MPC, the Municipal Government, the Municipal People's Congress and the Municipal People's Political Consultative Conference, and the previous leading cadres in Pudong also attended the get-together.
- April 18th: The SK System of the West Bund Sightseeing Tunnel was linked up entirely.

- April 12th: The contract signing ceremony of "the Combined Selling of Houses and Cars" of Pudong New Area was solemnly held in Lujiazui Garden. Besides our Company, those attending the campaign of "the Combined Selling of Houses and Cars" were Lianyang Land Development Company, Renheng Real Estate Company Ltd., the Industnial and Commercial Bank Shanghai Branch, the Construction Bank Shanghai Branch and Pudong Development Bank. The Automobile Marketing Head Company, subordinate to Shanghai Automobile Group Company, also took part in the selling campaign.
- April 10th: Zumuhur Arsur, the Vice-premier and concurrently the Minister of Energy Sources Department of Turkey, visited Lujiazui. Yan Jun, the Vice-General Manager, received him and introduced to him the situations about the exploitation and construction in the area.
- April 10th: The Fifth Session of the Second Directorate of Lujiazui Finance & Trade Zone United Development Company was called successfully.
- April 5th: The enterprise bonds worth eight hundred million RMB yuan of the Group Company were formally issued in public. The bonds were profoundly welcome in market. And the tendency of issuance was good.
- April 3rd: The Expert Conference of Examination and Commentary on Lujiazui Jing Garden Design Scheme was held. Through the examination and approval by the experts, the design schemes made by Shanghai Branch of Hebei Provincial Designing Institute and Pudong Branch of Shanghai Urban and Rural Designing Institute became the selected schemes. Located in the plots No. 1-4,4-1 and 6-1 in Jinyang New Village, Lujiazui Jing Garden occupies the area of 5.8 hectares and is invested and developed by Shanghai Lujiazui Finance and Trade Zone Development Incorporated Company Ltd.
- March 31st: Our Company, Guotai Jun'an Securities Incorporated Company Ltd. and other members of the associated underwriting group jointly signed the underwriting agreement of the enterprise bonds worth eight hundred million RMB yuan.
- March 29th: The ceremony for signing the Contract of Work Targets and Responsibilities (2000) of the Group Company was held in the Company. The party and administrative leading cadres and the principals of the corporations with the whole capital and all departments attended the ceremony of signing contract. There were altogether twenty-two departments and units signing the contracts.
- March 27th: The Company and the Economic and Trade Bureau of the Pudong New Area jointly convened the expert consultation meeting about inviting businessmen to open companies on the plots on both sides of the Century Boulevard. In the meeting, they went deep into the function development and exploitation of the Century Boulevard. 14 specialists in the aspects of economy, society, programming, business and trade and tourism etc. took part in the seminar.
- March 22nd: The party and administrative delegation of Chongqing led by He Guoqiang, the Secretary of Chongqing Municipal Party Committee, and Bao Xuding, the Mayor of Chongqing, arrived at the Central Greenbelt for investigation. - March 16th:The Third Session of the First Workers' Assembly of the Group Company was convened in the Company.
- March 3rd: Our company signed with Shanghai Friendship Group the contract of organizing the Century Supermarket Plaza by way of joint venture. We will invest jointly to build Lujiazui Lianhua Supermarket with the eight-year operation period in the plot No. 2-3, which is on the east side of the Century Boulevard in Zhuyuan Business and Trade Area, and Lujiazui Hao Meijia Decorating and Building Materials Supermarket. After the completion of the item, they will become fine shopping sites for the inhabitants in Lujiazui area of Pudong and will certainly play an active role in promoting the trade development of Pudong and activating the purchasing power of the people.
- March 1st: The Second Session of the Third Labor Union of Shanghai Lujiazui Finance and Ttade Zone United Development Company Ltd. Was convened in the Company.
- February 22nd: The establishment ceremony of Shanghai Lujiazui Real Estate Brokerage Company Ltd. and the ceremony for unveiling its board were held in the Head Company.
- February 20th and 21st: 2000 Working Conference of the Group Company was called in Mingcheng Garden.
- February 13th: The party and administrative leading cadres, the whole personnel and the representatives of the investment corporations, nearly 200 of them, took part in the solemn ceremony of hoisting the National Flag and held the beneficence campaign of "Showing Tenderness" right after the ceremony.

- January 27th: Located to the south of Jin Mao Tower in Lujiazui Central Financial District and occupying the area of 34,000 square meters, Lujiazui Golf Club was built up and started its test business. After Riverside Boulevard, the Central Greenbelt and Lujiazui Food Castle, this is another entertainment item for rest and recreation added in Lujiazui Central Financial District.
- January 25th: Shanghai Commendation Convention for Contribution and Competition (1999) was called. Zhang Wenya, the Vice General Manager, was appraised as the construction hero of the city. Kang Huijun, the General Manager, was elected as the outstanding organizer of the city. Feng Zhixing, the Chief Engineer, and Sun Jiaxiang were elected as the meritorious individuals of the city. - January 13th: The Showroom of Lujiazui Developmnet was selected as one of the ten major sights of the social cause in Pudong New Area.
- January 11th: In the company of Huwei, the Administrative Vice-Director, and Yao Haitong, the Vice-Secretary, a part of NPC representatives in Shanghai inspected Pudong. Kang Huijun, the General Manager, received them and introduced the exploitation and construction in the district. In spite of the rain, the representatives visited and inspected the Century Boulevard.
- January 7th: The detailed program of construction on both sides of the Century Boulevard middle section was authorized in the warrant HG (1999) No. 0986 of the Municipal Programming Bureau. The total area of the programmed scope is 51.47 hectares, from Dongfang Road in the east to Pudong South Road in the west and from Qixia Road in the north to Zhangyang Road in the south. The programmed function is defined as the modern trade service area, paying equal attention to business, service, culture and entertainment, in the service of Lujiazui Central Financial District and Zhuyuan Business and Trade Area. The total construction area for exploitation is 980,000 square meters, among which the dwelling area is 400,000 square meters and the area of public construction and other installations is 580,000 square meters.
