Riverside Promenade

The Riverside Promenade is 2500 meters long. It is a major scenic project along the Huangpu River, nicely incorporating tourism, greenery, transportation and service facilities, and especially stressing urban ecology and functions.

The Riverside Promenade is Shanghai Pudong's New Bund in the 21st century, consisting of touching-water platforms, green sloping land, semi-underground compartments, and sightseeing routes.

On one side of the platforms, visitors will be greeted by a stretch of gradually rising sloping field, where the flowers and shrubs are shaded in the emerald green grass, and the tall trees and thick shrubs have created a serene and comfortable environment, offering visitors a sense of fleeing the noisy metropolitan life.

Installed along the Riverside Promenade are 21 groups of arch spurting fountains, symbolizing the 21st century, the glass-wall panorama hall, the 70-year shipyard's wharf and a colossal iron anchor. Besides the Shanghai International Convention Center, the Shangri-La Hotel and the Oriental Pleasure Boat Harbor which have been completed, the Sea Park and other projects are under construction now. These man-made, solemn and delicate scenes are in harmony, with their beauty complementing each other's.
