ĦĦĦĦThis is a world of giants with dozens of super high-rise buildings jostling one another, such as the 468-meter-high Oriental Pearl TV Tower rocketing to the sky, the 94-storey World Financial Center and the 88-storey Jin Mao Mansion. Here creates great feats and brilliant achievements like the romantic Oriental Concert Hall and the tender riverside scenic spot --- the East Bund of Shanghai.

ĦĦĦĦThe Lujiazui Central Financial District is right opposite the bustling Nanjing Road with Huangpu River in between, it covers an area of 1.7 sq.km with a planned total floor space of 4 million sq.m. It will become an important component of Shanghai' Central Business District and one of the future international financial centers. With its terrific geographic location, excellent investment environment and unique preferential policies, this district has attracted substantial investment from home and abroad. Office buildings for dozens of world-renowned domestic and foreign banks and other financial institutions are under construction. The Yin Du Building, office building of the Shanghai Branch of the People's Bank of China, and the Merchants Tower, office building of the Shanghai Branch of China Merchant Bank, have been put to use. The Shanghai Securities Exchange Building, which is unique in architectural style, will be opened to the public in December 1997. In addition, office buildings housing various financial institutions like the Bank of China, the Industrial & Commercial Bank of China, the Agricultural Bank of China, the Construction Bank of China, the Bank of Communications and the City United Bank will all be completed one after another, making here a "Financial Street" of Shanghai.
