Development Achievements

  There are 399 buildings, which are over eight stories or higher than 24 meters, completed or under construction in Lujiazui, among which 299 have been put to operation. Various kinds of high-rise buildings for finance, commerce and trade, and mixed-use purposes, represented by the 468-m-tall Oriental Pearl TV Tower and the 88-F Jinmao Tower, have formed major new views of Shanghai.

  The figure of foreign and domestic financial institutions in the district has gone up to 83, among which 42 are foreign banks. Shanghai Stock Exchange, Shanghai Futures Exchange and other six factors markets have moved east to Lujiazui. Nearly 300 large enterprises and groups which are most influential at home and abroad have moved into Lujiazui, including Siemens, Alcatel, Itochu and Baosteel.

  The 2500-meter long Riverside Promenade, the 100,000m2 large Central Green, the 5000m long Century Boulevard, the Sightseeing Tunnels and the modern high-rise buildings, have formed a tourism package within the Lujiazui Central Financial District. There are up to 12 hotels with 3 and plus stars in the district including the Shanghai International Convention Center where '99 Fortune Forum was held, Jinmao Hyatt Hotel, Shangri-La Hotel and New Asia Tomson Hotel.
