The West Bund Sightseeing Tunnel connects the East Nanjin Rd. Bund and the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. It is the first river-crossing pedestrian tunnel with the length of 646.7 meters. It will be completed at the end of the year 2000.

　　The automatic, non-driver compartments will be used to carry passengers. It take 2.5 to 5 minutes to move from Puxi to Pudong and the handling capacity is 5280 persons per hour. Also high technologies will be applied in the construction of the tunnel. Visitors are able to see various pictures about history, culture and technology while crossing the river.

　　The West Bund Sightseeing Tunnel will become one of the urban tourism projects in Shanghai. Shanghai Lujiazui Development (Group) Co., Ltd. jointly invested and constructed the tunnel.
