The item appreciation of the elaborate works, which mainly show the construction achievements of Pudong's exploitation and opening to the world during the period of ten years, has been formally announced and the ceremony of issuing awards has been held recently.

The range of appreciation and selection covers the items in the four main specialties of Pudong's architectures, the city's planning, the landscaping and the urban sculptures. Awarded the golden medals for architecture are Jin Mao Tower, the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Shanghai Securities Mansion, the Aviation Station Building of Pudong International Airport and the Bank of China Shanghai Mansion. Posco Business Plaza, the N0.1 Yaohan New Century Commercial Building, the New Golden Bridge Mansion, Minle Garden of Yuqiao Gardens and Shanghai International Conference Center are also included in the golden-medal winners' list. Awarded the golden medals for the city planning are the Century Boulevard, Nanpu Bridge, the Tunnel of Yan'an East Road, the First Phase of the Confluence Sewage Harnessing Project and Yuandong (Far East) Boulevard. The Electric Power Plant of Waigaoqiao, Yangpu Bridge, Yanggao Road, the Natural Gas Air Feeding Project of the East China Sea and the First Phase of Zhangjiabang Repairing and Harnessing Project are also included in the golden-medal winners' list. Awarded the golden medals for the landscaping are the Century Garden, the Central Greenbelt of Lujiazui, the Afforestation of Riverside Avenue, the One-Hundred-Meter Tree Belt of the Outer Circular Line, the Open Rest and Recreation Greenbelt of Dongfang Road and Shangnan Park. Awarded the titles of the elaborate urban sculpture works are "Light of East", "Vigor", "Lacing" and "SPRING".
