The scheduled conferences in Shanghai International Convention Center, which used eight hundred million RMB investment and possesses the total construction area of 110,000 square meters and has the advanced installations and complete functions, have been arranged to the year of 2004. Jointly invested by China, Germany and England and possessing the total construction area of 250,000 square meters, Shanghai International Exhibition Center has also started up formally. It will be the largest exhibition center in the Far East. Pudong is gradually becoming the main site of conferences and exhibitions of Shanghai. The convention of the 500-Tops in the World Conference and the APEC Conference in 2001 will further strengthen its status and influence.
