The Largest Old-City-Zone Reconstruction Item of Pudong Starting up
Lanyuan Item, the largest plot for the old-city-zone reconstruction in Pudong New Area, has formally started up. The Local government and the investment group abroad signed the contract of leasing plot in batches and the agreement of the plot reconstruction a few days ago.
Separated with the N0.1 Yaohan Commerce Mansion and Lanyuan Village by only one road, Lanyuan Plot occupies the area about 26 hectares, stretching eastward to Pudong South Road and westward to the Huangpu River, and going north to Zhangyang Road and south to Pudian Road. Most of the houses and buildings here were built up in the first half of the twentieth century. Inhabitants are crowded and lack of living conditions; houses and buildings have been worn out and shabby. All have formed up the disharmony with the entire image of the Lujiazui Finance and Trade Zone.
The Local government has ranked the reconstruction of Lanyuan Plot as the key project and will mobilize to move over 8000 families of inhabitants, 39 industrial and commercial enterprises besides and over 160 individual units. The area for demolition is nearly three hundred and twenty thousand square meters. The plan will be completed in one and a half years.
