Three Groups of Large Sculptures in Time Theme
Towering Aloft on the Century Boulevard
At present, the Century Boulevard in Pudong is the only sculpture-Boulevard with the theme of time in the world. The three groups of large sculptures "The Light of the East", "The Time of the Century" and "The Five Elements" began to tower aloft on the Century Boulevard on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of Pudong's Development and opening to the world. The three sculptures on the Century Boulevard may be rated as the masterpieces of adding the finishing touch. They have gathered the art theory and ideas of the modern urban sculptures and also contained the profound cultural morals and messages of the history.
It is reported that the three sculptures belong to the first phase of the Large Sculptures on the Century Boulevard Project. After that, the second phase of the project will be constructed. Seeing the sculpture designs on the Century Boulevard, which possess the modern sense and shine more brilliantly in the company of the surrounding environment, many sculptors in the country have considered that the series of works will enlighten the design thinking of the large urban sculptures in the country.
