The announcement of the municipal administrative department for the urban appearance and environment is that another round of landscape lighting construction will start up in the city. With the time atmosphere and the characteristics of Shanghai, the night landscape lamp-lighting project will make the city more multicolored and Shanghai's nights bright.
The conference of APEC will be held in Shanghai in October next year. Taking the chance, the municipal administrative department for the urban appearance and environment has decided to promote the construction of the urban environment and landscapes energetically. The most important construction of landscape lighting lies in the central city zone within the circular line. "Creating elaborate landscape works and showing the elegant demeanor of lighting" will certainly make both banks of the Huangpu River contend for beauty and brilliance by mutual reflection.
The new round of landscape lighting construction will include several plans. The lighting on north and south wing-sides of Riverside Avenue in Lujiazui Central Financial District of Pudong will be further expanded. The background lighting and the full dress lights for festivals and celebration in the International Convention Center and the surrounding areas of hotels and tunnel portals will all be ornamented with strong colors. The outer flank of the flood prevention walls in the area of the West Bund, which is as long as over one kilometer along the banks of the river and facing the water, will be decorated with the glittery lighting into a lighting belt. The lighting belt will link the water and banks and provide the effect of changes between motion and calmness. In depth of the West Bund, hundreds of buildings from the edges and rear and top will also be ornamented with floodlights and the lighting of "inner lighting and outer transparence". This will make the lighting of the West Bund get the strong senses of depth and arrangement levels. The lighting layout and the characters for view and appreciation in the ten climax areas of the night landscape lighting will be further improved. These landscape lighting areas include Lujiazui Finance and Trade Centre, Xujiahui District, the section of Jinjiang Hotel and its surrounding area on Huaihai Central Road and the area of the West Bund. The area of the People's Square, the area of Yuyuan, Sichuan North Road, the area of the Night-less City in Zhabei, the Exploitation Region of Hongqiao and the area of Jing'an Temple are also included. At the appointed time, the lighting sight spots of greenbelts, gardens, sculptures and dynamic neon lights etc. will possess various characteristics, presenting an entirely new appearance. With the new ideas and new starting points, the lighting construction on the east and west axis will create the new lighting with distinguishing features. The building lighting on both sides of Pudong's Century Boulevard and the overhead road above Yan'an Road in the west of the Huangpu River will also display the beauty and fascination of the buildings nearby. The minor circular lines of landscape lighting, linking all the busy road sections in the core zone of Shanghai, will be further enhanced to higher levels. According to their different characteristics and in diverse ways, sight spots on various road sections will also be made out, which may display the elaborate sightseeing lines of the night landscape lighting with new features and strong dynamic sense.
