The Shanghai Ocean Aquarium is located beside the Oriental Pearl TV Tower in the Lujiazui Central Financial District. It covers an area of over 12000 sq.m, of which 10000 sq.m is for the exhibition and 2400 sq.m for the green. It will have a sightseeing submarine tunnel of some 120 meters, the longest in Asia. It is scheduled to be open to visitors by the end of 2000, with an estimated yearly volume of 3.5 million visitors.
