The World Food Center aims to bring together varied cuisine at home and abroad, to promote the exchange of international food cultures and to perfect the tourism of the Lujiazui Central Financial District.

The first phase of the World Food Center covers an area of 33000 sq.m. with the construction area of 23000 sq.m, which will open to the public in September this year. The first phase will mainly accommodate restaurants and other entertainment facilities.

Aiming to reflect the features of the various foods at home and abroad, the food center is divided into seven squares including the Asian Square, the European Square, the American Square and the African Square. Each square distinguishes itself with the unique outlook and interior decoration. At the center of the seven squares is the Century Square with a luminous spinning cylinder, which is not only a landscape of the food center, but also a good location for commercial advertisements.

In order to speed up the functional development of the World Food Center and the two sides of the Century Boulevard, the Pudong New Area Administration made the decision to extend the investment fields in commerce and trade, science and technology, exhibition, tourism and banking. The enterprises invested in the World Food Center will enjoy a series of preferential policies.
