The infratructure construction

To attract the investment from both home and abroad, a good investment environment is needed in Pudong. In the past 5 years, Shanghai made an investment of 25 billion RMB in the 10 infrastructure projects, involving the first-phase project of a power plant, the Pudong section of inner-ring road connecting the two bridges, the Waigaoqiao harbour area, two fly-overs, sewage project, the first phase of the Lingqiao Water Plant and modern telecommunications project.

Now, the construction of other infrastructure projects has started, involving Lujiazui-Huamu Avenue, sewage discharge project in southern Pudong, modern telecommunications center, new container harbour, the Pudong section of outer-ring road, the parallel of River. Besides, the preparation of the international airport and the No.2 subway has also started. Thus, infrastructure facilities, centering on roads and transportation, are shaping up a new modern city.
