The planning and development of the Yu Yuan Tourist and Business Center is subject to the modern social rationale and focuses on the future development. In view of its overall layout, the Yu Yuan Garden, "the most famous garden in South-east Asia" is the heart of the Yu Yuan Tourist and Business Center. Covering 49.4 hectares, the center stretches southward to the northern part of the Shanghai Old City, and is bordered by He Nan South Road, the planned road south to Fang Bang Road and Ren Min Road.
