Jing An's industry, with its electronic and acoustic facilities, machinery and electrical appliances and refined chemicals as the principal link, has ranked first in profit making in the manufacturing industry of Shanghai's districts for ten years. Priorities are being given to developing high and new technologies to support these pillar trades. To improve the ecological environment of the city proper, Jing An District is opening up its new industrial zones,manufacturing and export base in its urban-suburban integrated area.
