The " China " Cup National Garment Designing Contest, which includes the knitting ware and non-knitting ware groups, has been ready to receive design drawing since October,1995.

Up till April, 1996, 490 series of design drawings have been received, among which 238 are from Shanghai and 252 from other province and cities.

After a preview of the works from May 1 to May 8, 1996, 122 series of design drawings have been selected and modeling clothes have been made for the contest.

A jury of 9 made up of master designers and experts from in and out of China will have the last word on the works of professionals and amateurs.

Among the contesters, 432 are from 37 professional schools, whose average age is 22.5.
